Rockwell

It  goes through today at the NCMA and am fortunate that I was able to visit it twice.

Needless to say, I was ‘boggled’ by the work.  It wasn’t just how prolific he was (as he was an illustrator), but it was the quality of it.  He was a master.  Mostly though, I came away feeling like he was our American Hokusai.

i also enjoyed the Rockwell show I saw some years ago…maybe it was in Chicago or Kansas City….was at a show and found out it was there. ducked out for a few hours to go see it. it was amazing…to see the originals of so many iconic covers.
it was a very big show. i wonder if the same one is still touring? it was quite some time ago-over 5 years…maybe 8! time passes…

could be the same…I was astonished at the work. Not only that, it was so much fun to see how engaged people were with it – arguing and discussing his technique!
