Monoprinting

JL1

One of the members of my critique group hosted a monoprinting workshop. She had a spacious, well-lit studio where we printed leaf images.  I love the results.  The paint, straight from the tube, was intense, but as it mixed with what was on the plate already, with the combination of plant juices, things changed and we had surprising and very pleasing results.  It was only a brief introduction and the time flew.  I’m hoping we’ll do it again sometime.  In the meantime, I’ve been introduced to some new techniques that really intrigue me.  This was one examples out of the group.

We used a variety of paints for printing on cloth. In fact, all of our printing was on cotton.
