Ryukyu kimono & geography

In our early studies, some of my students will be looking more closely at the islands of Japan.   I have a few programs to share with them on Okinawa.  Last night I watched them through for the first time. Both programs spent time discussing Ryukyu textiles. Bingata and basho-fu were demonstrated as well as weaving.  I took notes and now I’m researching it in English for my own interest.  In doing so, I found one of those programs (on the Ryukyu Kimono) in English on Narablog’s Youtube site.  Arigato, Narablog!   Also, check out Narablog’s images on the same.
