The rain cleared today, so I walked. Trees are blooming and I don’t know what those purple pink blossoms are. Red bud? I’m not sure. The lake level is up which is a good sign. Durham and other surrounding towns are beginning to have their water restrictions lifted because we’ve had so much rain this week.

I’ve been indoors a lot stitching on a piece. Tonight I went as far as I can go on it, I think. I really want to dye it this week along with a few other quick pieces – some experiments and prep for next week’s workshop.

This morning, I spent some time grading a few papers and adding grades to the grade book. I’ve got some lesson planning as well. I’ll start my level 1s with new material – a fresh start for the new quarter. I’ve been doing exactly what I wanted over this break though, shibori, reading Mark Ravina’s The Last Samurai , watching movies and some walking. So far, so good.
