Some settings in my Etsy shop needed tweaking this morning. Apparently these folks made a few changes in regard to shipment, that kind of thing. I have no complaints there. I don’t know if that had something to do with it or not, but when I looked more closely at the settings, things didn’t look the same (I thought!). At any rate, things needed adjusting.
So, each item was reviewed and a few “tweaks” were made in shipping as well as some prices – small changes, but never-the-less….maybe it will make for improvement. If there are any questions or requests, one should never hesitate to ask.

TAFA, textile and fiber art has an early spring (or late winter?) treasury (on Etsy) The colors are warm, but they also suggest the lightness and possibility of spring.

There are so many choices here. Where to begin?

It’s nearly the weekend, the weather is crazy today with rain and high winds off and on. It makes me restless. It’s been a full week with putting something in the vat everyday, even if it’s just something small.
I’ve uploaded something on Etsy everyday as well, which means a lot of photo editing and writing. I enjoy all of it and it’s good learning. I make a lot of mistakes, take a lot of bad photos and that’s OK. I’m learning, exploring, seeing the possibilities and that’s just fun.
As I said, though, the weekend is nearly here. I’m going to stop and focus on other things, like the house and the yard, the garden. I’m thinking ahead to spring. The garden needs attention and I also want to add new things, certainly some color. Working there is also good for my mind. It’s restful but a lot of mind work happens there too.

Just a little ‘tidbit’ here. Woolettes, an Etsy shop is featuring items in my favorite color in a treasury called Aglow with Indigo and believe it or not, that blue does radiate.
By the way…you’ll also find a little rabbit in the collection…

A couple of Etsy treasuries have appeared on the horizon and it would be remiss if I didn’t mention them. Feltjar is featuring some very “rabbity” items in Lunar Lovin’.
Then, Loretta Designs is highlighting items in my favorite color, indigo in Indigo Chic. Both have a lot of appeal, I think!

Pottery by Caroline Haurie
It’s that magic color, but this time it’s in the pottery of Caroline Haurie. I can’t decide which piece I like the best. It’s that Japanese aesthetic speaking….
Caroline Haurie generously included one of my scarves in her Etsy treasury yesterday. I really like the collection of artists she’s brought together in this collection and hope you’ll not only take a little walk through her selection, but also take a look at her work.

It’s noon already. Where did the time get to? I wanted to spend the time doing…not writing, not adjusting items in my little shop. I had to though. In many respects, my shop is probably as neglected as my garden.
I’m finding my way back to both though – bit by bit. The dye vat is always calling and I think more about the making, exploring – experimentation more than anything – than production.
Production and I are like oil and water at this point. I can do it, but I don’t love it. I love making though. I love watching the interaction of dyes on fiber – it’s like watching the interaction of pigment on paper. It’s just fun. That’s just one aspect of it.
I also like selling my work. That has been integral with being an artist – the idea of sharing & showing my visual perspective (is there a better way to say this? I’d like to know) – my aesthetics or sensibilities, I guess. I like referencing Japan, obviously, it’s what I know, it’s my lens. しかたない。 It can’t be helped.
So, some of my time this morning went into reducing and adjusting the prices on some of my “pieces.” I hope it helps. In the near future I plan to add items with new experiments & explorations in silk & cotton.
